Singapore recently launched a new scheme called Manpower for Strategic Economic Priorities (M-SEP) that allows companies that drive the country's key economic priorities to temporarily hire S Pass and work permit holders beyond the quota for their industry.
Under the new scheme, the quota for such hires will be expanded by up to 5 per cent of a firm's existing base workforce, capped at 50 additional workers. This will last for two years and can also be renewed if the firm continues to meet the qualifying criteria.
